There should be no line drawn on jokes comedians make.

think that comedians defending themselves being offensive with their jokes by saying that they are just telling the truth about societal issues, when other members of society are scared to speak the truth is a valid argument. They also claim that they are just using their right to freedom of speech to give their thoughts on issues through humor. To make people get less offended, they want their audience to be able to look in the mirror and laugh at themselves over these issues which is understandable. Comedians don’t want to limit their jokes to be less offensive because they feel that they will just be lying to society, and not create the change that they can.

Comedians need to avoid sensitive topics.

Many comedians make jokes referring to sensitive topics that offend members of the audience. I think they need to realize  that even if people aren’t attending the show, in today's social media crazed society, an offensive joke can spread like a wildfire. Comedians like Louis C.K. get themselves into trouble and lose fans and hurt their reputation with offensive jokes, which is something they should learn from. Jokes about these sensitive topics can cause hurt and trauma to the audience being offended by it and comedians should think more about others feelings before they say certain things.

Comedians should focus on being funny, and not too focused on being offensive or not.

A good middle argument between whether or not there should be a line drawn for how offensive comedians are with their content, is having the comedian focus more on their content being funny than focus on whether or not they are being offensive. As the critic said, if they focus more on naturally being funny, they shouldn't be overly offensive, but at the same time it won't affect the humor of their content by worrying about being offensive. Comedians should start listening to critics and see if this technique would work well for them and their content.
